Trumpian Conspiracy Theories Fuelling Insane Republican Big Lie Advocacy

As I discussed the other day, things are getting progressively worse in the US as half of the country are happy to let it slide towards fascism, and the other half appear powerless to stop it from doing so. Insane conspiracy theories are being used to fuel dangerous voter suppression

Dominion & Election Fraud Nonsense

Sidney Powell is a Grade A batsh!t crazy conspiracy theorist nutjob. Yes, my evaluation may be unprofessional but I seek to match the professionalism with which she is collecting her "evidence" and presenting her findings. I need not detail the utterly ridiculous assertions she is making about

A Lesson in Probability to a Twit

A long time commenter here (See Noevo Twit), who has contributed precisely nothing to any conversation he has been involved in bar annoyance, is not long for these boards. It finally came to a head and I announced he would be banned after the election given: a) if Trump won,

Truth Decay and the Normalisation of Conspiracy Theories

So much has gone on recently that I don't know where to start and can't hope to include everything. Conspiracy theories are being flung at as many walls as possible to see what sticks and where, and it's all so depressing. We really are

Benford's Law and Election Fraud

Some Trump supporters and media outlets have stated that Biden's vote distribution in certain places are evidence of election fraud because the data goes against something called Benford's Law. This has since been shown to be nonsense. The following video (thanks to a thread commenter -

This Circus, and the Hypocrisy, Was All So Predictable

It's all still happening, sadly. Trump and his acolytes are still maintaining this circus. But it's not like we weren't warned. By Hillary Clinton, for example. We were also warned by Trump's own behaviour: In the 2016 primaries and election and before,

What Do You Do about This A-Grade Delusion?

This sack of nuts, from Pastor Greg Locke: https://twitter.com/i/status/1326326236902285312   I have no idea what one does about this off-the-scale level of delusion. It beggars belief. Also,  the rise of Newsmax and OAN is disturbing - the quality is shockingly low as the propaganda levels are

The Election: Talking Energy, Foreign Policy & Demographics

I have written an awful lot on this election and there will be some more post mortem examination to take place. This piece will be an analysis of a right-wing commenter, Person223, who comments here regularly and who at least gives a little more substance than most every other right-wing

Georgia On My Mind

Holy Cosmos! You WHAT? Evangelical Twaddle-Peddling...

Paula White, the presidential spiritual adviser, is nuts. Not just nuts, but properly nuts. This prayer service was led after the election. Watch this, look and listen to her absolute nonsense. After you hear her insanity, you can watch the fascinating montage of her...greater insanity. https://www.youtube.com/

Humanist PAC Marks Gains for Atheists and Freethinkers – and Hope for All Americans in Future Elections

(Washington, D.C., November 5, 2020) – While freethought leaders hoped for more progress this election toward a safer, saner, stronger America, they view the very close and mixed results as a call for greater participation in the electoral process by the atheist and humanist community. “Sadly, this election shows that

Some More Election Reflections (Messaging & Electoral Reform)

Here are a few more nuggets to discuss: 1. It makes not one substantive jot of difference whether Biden wins in a landslide or by the skin of his teeth. The only thing that really matters past whether Biden gets in or not at all, is the Senate. That the

A Few Election Thoughts

Are a couple of thoughts: 1. Irrespective as to whether Biden or Trump wins this, Joe Biden was my last choice for Democratic primary nominee. I wonder whether there is any decent data to suggest whether he was the best choice or not for beating Trump. I came round to

Election Update

This is probably pointless as it will change. It's 4.40 am here and the night has not remotely gone as was expected. The pollsters will need to do some reassessing. The margin of error will be leant on quite heavily. It looks like Arizona, presently 75% submitted

Why Religious Jews Should Reconsider Their Vote For President Trump

The other day, I posted a set of articles arguing that Christian should not vote for Trump using the Bible as rationale. This time, Michael J. Alter looks at the position from a Jewish background. Putting the Trumpian Cognitive Dissonance to Bed

This is my second piece dealing with a comment from someone I know on Facebook. Yesterday, I went to town on the claims that, compared to Trump, Biden is a racist crook. This seemed to be one of the bases of this person's support for Trump against Biden.

What Trump NEEDS but Won't Get to Be Re-Elected (Including Many White Religious)

Why Cheat Your Way to Victory or Challenge in Court?

Trump is hell-bent on ruling for longer than two terms. He has been mentioning 16 years at rallies. But he is seriously losing in the polls, so he is trying to cheat through voter suppression, disenfranchisement, gerrymandering and casting aspersions on the democratic values and mechanisms of the US. Why?
